The surf world is officially in mourning after the tragic loss of the 3 times world surf champion and surf legend, Andy Irons.
He sadly passed away on the 2nd of November from Dengue fever after a string of unfortunate events. According to reports he pulled out of a surf event in Peurto Rico due to illness and then after seeing doctors decided to return home to visit his own doctors in his home of Hawaii, he missed a connecting flight and ended up stranded over night in Dallas where his body was found the following day.
Dengue fever is particularly fatal and is contracted through mosquito bite, as if to make it even worse he leaves behind a heavily pregnant wife.
It will surely take a long time for the surf world to recover from this devastating loss, Andy Irons will be greatly missed.
