Ghost hunting at Woodchester...wah ha ha!!...creepy ghostly laugh....

So we just rolled in this morning at 6am after a spectacular spook-fest at Woodchester Mansion!!
It was great, what a creepy place - a group of about 30 of us met at a pub just up the road before travelling in convoy to the mansion itself - the drive to Woodchester was just like out of a horror film, after the gates were locked behind us we drove a mile down a  bumpy off road track, through woods and trails before finally Woodchester came in to view nestled all by itself in the middle of the secluded valley - there would be no chance of making a hasty exit from this place!

I was surprised to see that the mansion was smaller than its shown on the TV shows that I had seen it on but it was still pretty spectacular, completely unfinished and weirdly captivating. So off we went, we had a briefing and a tour of all the main areas included the dark and creepy cellars before slitting off in to groups for vigils.

Our group started in the cellars where we experimented with table tipping and our guide experienced being pinched and prodded and we heard some small sounds in the corner of the room, the whole atmosphere down there was a bit jumpy!

We also tried Ouija board in the kitchen but had nothing, my sister and I heard some low scraping sounds behind us and a couple of little taps on the wall, lastly we held a vigil upstairs in the top corridor but sadly didn't experience anything up there.

We were then allowed to spend an hour going around by ourselves and really enjoyed exploring the whole house, we even climbed the very narrow stairs to the organ pit in the chapel which was ok until we had to come back down and that in itself was scary trying to get back down the very twisty and narrow spiral staircase!

Overall not much activity to report but an amazing venue and I'm sure that on another night at another time there would be more activity just not on our night - I'm still so glad we went and can now tick the almighty Woodchester Mansion off our list!

Oh and forgot to mention this ghost hunt was with the ace 'Haunted Happenings' team who were great as usual, we wouldn't want to ghost hunt with anyone else!
