After a tip off from my Gran we drove out to Morwenstow on Sunday for a bit of a walk which turned out to be pretty nice!
The day was overcast but still really humid so perfect walking conditions, we set off from the church although left that until that last stop as there was still Sunday service going on when we turned up.
So off we marched across sheep fields and then down into a pretty wood through which a small stream ran all the way out into a big opening which is best decribed as a bit of a valley between the cliffs with the sea right out in front. It was really still and quiet and as we made our way up to the pointy end of one side of the valley called Sharpnose point the fog started rolling in so it all looked very dramatic!
To finish we walked back towards the church which is very old (think it dates back to Saxon times) and apparently quite well known, if only for being the church vicar Robert Hawker used to reside at and then walk out to his little hut on the coastal path and smoke opium while contemplating the sea.....you cant make this stuff up!!
