Prancing to Padstow..

Ok so we didnt really 'prance' to Padstow more like plodded to Padstow but that didnt sound as catchy...

Yesterday was declared a good day for walking so within minutes the hiking sticks were packed and every peice of waterproof clothing was loaded into the car and off we went. In view of the 'challenging' experiences of the Coastal path walks lately it was time to switch to something easier going and flat - hooray!

We walked from Wadebridge to Padstow, a 5 mile flat walk on the Camel Trail, an old railway line now used mainly for biking.

The weather held good for oh about 5 minutes and then the heavens literally opened and it chucked it down! It was so bad I had to get out the waterproof trousers and thats when you know its really raining! (Those particular trousers are only reserved for the worst weather emergencies!!) I also had to fashion a waterproof bag cover out of a bin bag...

We were lucky enough to have some sun in patches and had time to have an ice cream at Padstow before the weather caught up with us again for another drenching!!

The highlights were watching lots of people struggle on tandems, obviously something that seems like a good idea for the first 5 minutes, lots of parents struggling with their tiny children who they were trying to make cycle the 5 miles and the reward of Granny wobblies fudge at the end, oh yeah and of course all of the valuable exercise.....
